Dr. John Das

Dr. John Das is an American physician, educator, researcher, and humanitarian whose work spans the fields of sleep medicine, family medicine, medical education, and charitable service. A native of Ohio, he serves as an attending physician specializing in sleep medicine at University Hospitals, Case Western Reserve University.

He previously completed fellowship training in sleep medicine at University Hospitals, Case Western Reserve University, and his residency training in Family Medicine at Western Reserve Hospital, where he was honored with the institution’s Research Excellence Award. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Kent State University and a Doctor of Medicine degree from Avalon University School of Medicine.

Dr. Das has mentored numerous medical students and resident physicians, in addition to delivering lectures on sleep medicine and public health. His scholarly work includes peer-reviewed publications, textbook chapters, and national presentations. He has held leadership and advisory roles in several national medical organizations, including the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the American Thoracic Society, and the Ohio Academy of Family Physicians. He has served as a peer reviewer for a number of medical journals and participates in professional committees dedicated to physician education and health equity.

Beyond medicine, Dr. Das has distinguished himself through longstanding humanitarian and charitable service. He has served in leadership roles within the Sovereign Military Order of Malta, where he directs prison ministry efforts and supports charitable outreach initiatives. He is also active in organizations devoted to mentorship, humanitarian aid, medical missions, and historical scholarship.

 

His volunteer work has included service to those in need, international humanitarian support, and advocacy for underserved communities.

Dr. Das has received honors in recognition of his professional, humanitarian, and civic contributions, including investiture into historic orders of chivalry such as the Venerable Order of Saint John, as well as distinctions for service and leadership.
