Oscar Annunziata
Oscar Annunziata is a professional aviator and former officer of the Italian Air Force, whose career has encompassed military aviation, operational service, flight instruction, and command. During his years of active service, he served as a pilot, instructor, and flight commander, acquiring extensive operational and instructional experience. His military career included participation in combat operations against ISIS forces in Iraq.
He holds Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Aeronautical Sciences from the University of Naples “Federico II,” as well as a Postgraduate Master’s Degree in Leadership and Strategic Analysis from the University of Florence. His military and professional formation includes the Teulié Military School in Milan, the Italian Air Force Academy in Pozzuoli, and the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) Program at Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas. Following his transition from military service to civil aviation in the United States, he obtained an FAA Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) Certificate and has continued his professional career in aviation.
In recognition of his military service, he was awarded several decorations by the Italian Ministry of Defence, including the Silver Medal for Long Aeronautical Navigation, the Gold Cross for Length of Military Service, the Commemorative Cross for International Cooperation Missions, and the Gold War Merit Badge (Electronic Warfare). He also received multiple commendations in recognition of distinguished conduct and operational excellence.
His enduring dedication to aviation extends beyond his professional career. In 2022, he completed a trans-European ultralight flight from Italy to England, reflecting a personal commitment to flight that has remained constant throughout his life. He is a Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Order of the Lion of Rwanda, conferred by the Royal House of Rwanda, and a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Portuguese Royal House, conferred by the Royal House of Portugal. Within the traditions of the Imperial House of Brazil, he has been distinguished as an Honorary Knight Grand Cross of the Imperial Military and Civil Order of the Rose and as a Knight Commander of the Imperial Military Order of Saint Benedict of Aviz. He also serves the Imperial House of Brazil as a Gentleman of the Imperial Chamber (Camarista).
His further distinctions and affiliations include that of Ballestero of the Noble Compañía de Ballesteros Hijosdalgo de San Felipe y Santiago and Caballero Maestrante de Castilla. He is also a Senator of the Grand Badge of the Royal Order of Saint Queen Tamar of the Royal House of Georgia. Among his other distinctions is the Medalla de Mérito de la Casa Troncal de los Doce Linajes de Soria, associated with one of the oldest institutions of the Hispanic nobiliary tradition.

Annunziata is married to Kristian A. Annunziata, an alumna of the United States Air Force Academy and a veteran of combat missions in the Middle East. She earned her Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and subsequently practiced law with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP in New York. She is also a certified Investment Adviser.
